In 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned the constitutionally-protected right to abortion, leaving the legislation of abortion access and other fundamental aspects of reproductive healthcare to individual states. That decision, Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization, causing an unprecedented health and human rights crisis for pregnant people in our country.
On March 17th, the JCRC for Tucson & Southern Arizona, National Council of Jewish Women – Arizona Section, the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson, and the YWCA for Southern Arizona will present a panel discussion on the past, present, and future of abortion rights in the State of Arizona. Join us to hear about the history (and criminalization) of abortion in our state and learn about strategy behind the Arizona Abortion Access Initiative, the coalition effort to codify abortion rights in the state constitution.
Signature-gathering training will be offered and lunch will be served.
